versions.json has outdated version. users running deno run -A -r https://fresh.deno.dev/update will not get the latest one

That's not quite right. The https://fresh.deno.dev/update url is only for updating Fresh to the latest 1.x release.

i ended up here after running running deno run -A vite, which suggested to update:

VITE v7.1.5 ready in 774 ms

  ➜ Local: http://127.0.0.1:8002/
➜ Network: use --host to expose
➜ press h + enter to show help
    Fresh 2.1.1 is available. You're on 2.1.0
To upgrade, run: deno run -A -r https://fresh.deno.dev/update

but running the suggested command caused a diff in my project which looked like downgrade to 1.7.3

hence the PR, idk what is the correct command to update post v2.0.0

The message has been updated few weeks ago: https://github.com/denoland/fresh/pull/3452/files

this is relevant only for users on <2.1.1
PR is not relevant for >2.1.1, so closing.
