Summary
This is a manual recreation of #2344
For want of a better term, some of the Dependabot-created PRs appear to be 'poisoned', failing to run basic CI worfklow steps correctly. This PR both performs the update and is a test of whether the underlying code changes are the cause of problems or there are issues for Dependabot running these jobs.
