The two are not the same. The Homebrew tap builds the binary on installation, see this code here And the one by @derailed uses the binaries built in this repo, see the code here I think it's fair to keep the tap version as it is the official tap from the creator himself, the Homebrew one is a third-party way of installing it. |

I installed this great tool recently, and the prefix name was not necessary.
