Apologies if this is a misdirected issue, but as far as I can tell there is a javascript bug when rendering large images on the iphone using the hooligan theme. For example, see the large image on this page. On Chrome/OS X vs built-in browser it renders properly. However on iOS 6/IPhone the image is "squished" horizontally: it retains its proper height, but the width appears to be reduced to fit the iphone screen.
This does not happen when the images fit within the screen. For example, see this page
