This project shows how to access ERA5 meteorological data from Earthmover's Arraylake platform.
- Spatial analysis: Plot ERA5 variables globally and regionally,
- Temporal analysis: Plot timeseries of ERA5 variables at specific locations.
First install uv.
Now open your terminal (on Mac just click Apps then search Terminal and click it), then launch the interactive marimo notebook using uvx, by typing this command and hitting enter:
uvx marimo edit --sandbox https://github.com/earth-mover/risk-analysis-workshop/blob/main/era5.pyYou will need to press n then enter to say that you trust that we aren't trying to give you a virus.
You should see a few packages get downloaded, then your browser should open a snazzy marimo notebook. Press ctrl-enter to run each cell one-by-one to follow the workshop content.
Or alternatively if you prefer, git clone this repo, install all dependencies locally, then run:
uv sync
marimo run era5.pyIf you just want to see the notebook contents, including the outputs from running it, click here.
