GD Recruit Assistant

This repository includes the code used to build GD Recruit Assistant application.

Visit the wiki section for additional information.

System Requirements

  • Microsoft Windows 10 or 11 (64bit)
  • Microsoft VC++ 2019 Redistributable (suggested)

What's New

v1.0.4 - Download

  1. Fixed authentication issue involving Cloudflare security checks. If the app stops allowing you to authenticate to Sportshub/WIS, then update to this version. The solution was to include the most recent build of Firefox v1422 in the app.

v1.0.2 - Download

  1. Fixed issue with multiple teams. The application would only load recruits for the first team in your My Locker page.
  2. Updated the embedded Playwright Firefox browser to v1316.

v1.0.1 - Download

  1. New and improved method for gathering the recruiting data from WIS Gridiron Dynasty.
  2. Simplified workflow/dialog for initializing season recruiting data. "Update Considering" and "Mark Watchlist" buttons moved to the main window.
  3. For recruits you have signed, the "Considering" cell will be shaded green while the rest of the row will be shaded gray.

Beta v0.4.8 -

  1. Fixed a bug where the application would fail to properly initialize/re-initialize a season if recruit signings had already started happening.

Beta v0.4.7 -

  1. Added ability to configure which columns to show/hide. From the menu bar, select Options->Show Columns, and you will see a dialog that allows you to check (show) or uncheck (hide) specific columns.

Beta v0.4.6 -

  1. Added ability to grab recruits from one division higher than your team's division. Useful for D-III, D-II, and D-IAA only in case you want to see what the schools/coaches with better vision are recruiting/battling for. There is also Division Filter dropdown added.
  2. Fixed an issue where the considering background color highlights were being applied to incorrect schools.

Beta v0.4.5 -

  1. Fixed a bug where "Penn State (Wilkinson)" was hard coded in the New Season dialog.

Beta v0.4.4 -

  1. You can now customize the order the table columns by dragging and dropping. The order will be saved and restored when you reopen the app or load other seasons.
  2. Color coding of recruits considering you. If you are on a recruit alone the cell background will be green. If you are on a recruit with other schools the cell background will be yellow.
  3. All the dialog windows now have fixed sizes which prevents them from being resized incorrectly.
  4. All of the windows positions are saved and restored when used again.
  5. The Update Considering progress bar will now iterate through both steps of the process. First it will progress through the download of the data from the internet for all unsigned recruits. Then it will progress through saving the downloaded data to the season database.

Beta v0.4.2 -

  1. Added an Advanced Configuration Option with two config settings you can change within the UI. More info on the wiki can be found here.
    • Always show browser automation (default is enabled) - When enabled, for the actions that require a logged in browser session (e.g. Initialize Recruits and Mark Recruits From Watchlist), you will see the automated actions happening in the Firefox browser that is packaged with the application. This is useful for you to know that it is working and to also respond to the pesky Privacy Notice prompts that have started showing up.
    • Enable debug logging level (default is disable) - When enabled, the application will collect debug level logs typically used for better troubleshooting of issues.
  2. Added a Help->About menu option. Selecting this menu option will open your default web browser to the this readme page you are reading right now.

Beta v0.4.1 -

  1. Redesigned the authentication experience and implementing cookie reuse. This also means the app will no longer store your username and password. More details here including a quick demo video.
  2. Restructured where some of the underlying files are stored:
    • Config directory contains configuration files
    • Seasons directory contains the season database files and will also contain any exported CSV files
    • Cookies directory contains the stored cookies used for quick session reauthentication.
  3. Season filenames now include your coachid. This is used for filtering out season files that belong to different coachids. You will only see seasons that match the coachid.

Beta v0.3.3 -

  1. Export to CSV now offers two options -> export All Recruits or export Watchlist Only recruits.
  2. The app is free to use. Added button to send PayPal donations for those who wish to do so.

  5. Recruits marked from watchlist will show a green check mark icon.
  6. Formatted ID and Hometown columns with blue text to give some indication these are clickable links to additional website info.
