3 changes:

  • Your code, looks like its written for Gmail, didn't work for me on a Dovecot Imap server for checking the existence of a Mail Folder. Fixed it.
  • I added an option for skipping SSL verification, not all domains have valid certificates
  • I added a connection check. If there was an error in the user/pass the script would just continue with all sorts of errors.
