Do it like GNOME does it (https://github.com/GNOME/gnome-shell/blob/35beb976b71304c86b1a7e1c75ed5b0912908350/js/ui/windowManager.js#L229) with some minor modifications
Gets rid of a bunch of complexity and should finally fix the crashes related to this 🤞
Should be ready now.
A new behavior is that while in the multitasking view if we close all windows on the second to last ws it just becomes the last instead of switching to the one to the left which I think is the more expected behavior. The icongroup icon doesn't get the plus there but they will be removed soon anyways :)
