I made this request one year ago. Is there any intention to merge this PR? I need this feature to better integrate my chef-handler-sns with IAM roles. |

Issues like this are what keep community progression from happening... The AWS Chef Cookbook relies on this gem and is essentially crippled because of it... I can't believe that RightScale customers do not use IAM roles, it's been Amazon Best practice for a while now. |
