Wondering how many different data formats users might end up downloading with this extremely generic tool, but I guess you can refine things later.

Dear Markus, Thnak you for proposing this new tool. I never develop a "tool_source" Galaxy tool, but seems to me this can be of interest only if the "remote web page" can identify you are coming from Galaxy and so, display a specific manner to import data from the remote web page to Galaxy. It seems to me this is not the case there. If the idea is ""just"" to have a way to give users a hyperlink so he can visit the NFDI4earth data portal, maybe three is other manner to do. If you think you will create ""Galaxy dedicated entrypoint"" on NFDI4Earth catalog in futur weeks, I can let this PR open and when ready, we can test it and merge if everything is ok. Another aspect, is that maybe NFDI4Earth catalog can be reach through "remote data oriented protocol" aleady useable from Galaxy (S3/Webdav/FTP...) and/or through a dedicated tool who can use NFDI4Earth catalog API (with potentially a dedicated credential space in Galaxy user preference) ? Please, don't hesitate to comment ! Wishing you a very good day, Cheers, Yvan |

Hi Yvan, |

It's basically the same as in this previous PR but for another platform: #108 |

THNAK You Markus, it is more clear for me! I understand it is easier to develop the fnuctionnality on the NFDI4Earth side if the tool is already reachable on Galaxy Europe! So for me it's ok ! |

This data source tool redirects users to the search UI of NFDI4Earth's OneStop4All. In the future, users will be able to select a dataset in the search UI and import it to the Galaxy platform for further analysis via a dedicated "Import to Galaxy" - Button (similar to what we have done in AquaINFRA). We are still working on this but already would like to make it possible for users to get from Galaxy to the OS4All.
