Complexity Paper Acceptance Release

Release of the repository corresponding to the acceptance of the paper "Is Complexity the Answer to the Continuum vs. Discontinuum Question in Rock Engineering?" from Georg Erharter and Davide Elmo in the Journal "Rock Mechanics and Rock Engineering" in July 2025.

The repository underwent major changes since v1.0.0 to facilitate the complexity analyses that are described in the paper. Another major change is that the accompanying data is now provided through external data repositories in Zenodo and are removed from the repo to keep it clean. See the README for more information on that.

RMRE submission release

Release of the repository including the first version of the parametric discontinuity dataset 1 - PDD1 as part of the submission of a manuscript to the journal "Rock Mechanics and Rock Engineering". The manuscript has the title "Rock mass structure characterization considering finite and folded discontinuities".

The 5000 meshes of the discrete discontinuity network samples of PDD1 are attached to this release and split into two zip folders "meshes_1of2.zip" and "meshes_2of2.zip" due to file size.
