feat(ios): Expose enableMemoryIntrospection option - #6674
Merged
Conversation
Surfaces the public sentry-cocoa `enableMemoryIntrospection` option (added in cocoa 9.24.0, default false) as a typed, documented iOS option. Lets privacy-sensitive apps keep native crash reporting while omitting memory contents that SentryCrash reads near the crash site. The option passes straight through to Cocoa via optionsFromDictionary, so no ObjC bridging is required. Fixes #6547 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Add wrapper.test.ts coverage mirroring the enableMetricKit tests, so the bridge passthrough is validated at the boundary and future refactors can't silently drop the option. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com>

## DESCRIBE YOUR PR⚠️ Should be merged after getsentry/sentry-react-native#6674 is released Documents the new `anrProfilingSampleRate` option for the React Native SDK on Android. When set, the SDK profiles the main thread during a detected foreground ANR and attaches the resulting flamegraph to the ANR event on the next app start. Adds an **ANR Profiling on Android** section to the React Native [App Hangs](https://docs.sentry.io/platforms/react-native/configuration/app-hangs/) page, alongside the existing NDK app-hang tracking docs. It includes the billing note (powered by the Profiling platform, billed as UI Profile Hours) and links to the `sentry-java` ANR profiling docs for deeper detail. Accompanies the SDK change: getsentry/sentry-react-native#6673. ANR profiling graduated out of experimental in sentry-java 8.55.0 (getsentry/sentry-java#6042), which the RN SDK now bundles. > [!NOTE] > This should merge once/after the SDK release that ships `anrProfilingSampleRate` (the accompanying SDK PR) is out. ## IS YOUR CHANGE URGENT? - [ ] Urgent deadline (GA date, etc.): YYYY-MM-DD - [ ] Other deadline: YYYY-MM-DD - [x] No deadline: Not urgent, can wait up to 1 week+ ## PRE-MERGE CHECKLIST - [ ] Checked Vercel preview for correctness, including links - [ ] PR was reviewed and approved by any necessary SMEs (subject matter experts) - [ ] PR was reviewed and approved by a member of the [Sentry docs team](https://github.com/orgs/getsentry/teams/docs) ## EXTRA RESOURCES - [Sentry Docs contributor guide](https://docs.sentry.io/contributing/) Co-authored-by: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com>

…9276) ## DESCRIBE YOUR PR⚠️ Should be merged after getsentry/sentry-react-native#6674 is released Documents the new iOS-only `enableMemoryIntrospection` option in the React Native configuration reference (Hybrid SDK Options). When the SDK captures a native crash on iOS (e.g. `EXC_BAD_ACCESS`), `SentryCrash` reads memory near the crash site and embeds string-based stack contents in the event, which can expose sensitive information. This option lets privacy-sensitive apps keep native crash reporting while omitting memory contents. Companion SDK change: getsentry/sentry-react-native#6674 (resolves getsentry/sentry-react-native#6547). The option ships in React Native SDK `8.26.0`, so the `availableSince` reflects that — please hold merge until that release is out. ## IS YOUR CHANGE URGENT? - [ ] Urgent deadline (GA date, etc.): YYYY-MM-DD - [ ] Other deadline: YYYY-MM-DD - [x] No deadline: Not urgent, can wait up to 1 week+ ## PRE-MERGE CHECKLIST - [ ] Checked Vercel preview for correctness, including links - [ ] PR was reviewed and approved by any necessary SMEs (subject matter experts) - [ ] PR was reviewed and approved by a member of the Sentry docs team

📜 Description
Exposes the public sentry-cocoa
enableMemoryIntrospectionoption (added in cocoa9.24.0, PR getsentry/sentry-cocoa#8571) as a typed, documented iOS option onReactNativeOptions. When the SDK captures a native crash (e.g.
EXC_BAD_ACCESS),SentryCrashreads memory near the crash site and embeds string-based stack contents in the event, which can expose sensitive information (user IDs, personal data) — sometimes even in the issue title. This option lets privacy-sensitive apps keep native crash reporting while omitting memory contents.@platform ios),@default false(matches Cocoa's default since9.24.0).optionsFromDictionary, so the plainSentryOptions.enableMemoryIntrospectionboolean is set automatically.< 9.24.0) is resolved — the SDK now bundles Cocoa9.27.0.💡 Motivation and Context
Fixes #6547. Gives privacy-sensitive apps a supported toggle to omit crash-site memory contents from native iOS crash reports.
