Hi there, I'm Gianluca Capezzuto 👋

About me

I'm an M.Sc. student at the University of São Paulo who enjoys solving challenging engineering problems at the intersection of software, AI, and robotics.

  • I work with Professor Marcelo Becker on traversability prediction and autonomous navigation in unstructured environments.

Past

  • I interned at DASLAB, improving the performance of a neural network that predicts traversability by applying Prototypical Contrastive Learning, developing the semantics for unexplored environments
  • I was heavily involved in the SEMEAR building automation process robots as well as humanoid robots in the context of extension and culture

Fun Facts

  • I enjoy lifting and running. Now, I'm training to run my first half-marathon 🐢
  • I obtained my technical degree in Industrial Mechanics at the age of 17
