--- ... bibliography: "bibliography.bib" --- Cite something [@cite_id]. This adds the pandoc arguments --bibliography content/[file] to Pandoc.
With Pandoc this allows for passing e.g. --- ... bibliography: "content/bibliography.bib" nocite: '@*' link-citations: true --- to create a fully bibliography out of a .bib file.

@bilke sorry for the late feedback on this. I can see how this would be useful and the implementation looks good. But I will have to wait with this a little. Now with Go 1.11 coming out I can finally move this project to Blackfriday v2. And with that, I plan to do a redesign of the whole "content rendering" thing, including how PanDoc is set up. One of those items is configuration. I'm not a fan of adding top-level front matter flags ( So, this feature itself is great, just that I have to wait a little before we marry into the API. |

Adds the citeproc filter to the pandoc converter. There are several PRs for it this feature already. However, I think simply adding `--citeproc` is the cleanest way to enable this feature, with the option to flesh it out later, e.g., in gohugoio#7529. Some PRs and issues attempt adding more config options to Hugo which indirectly configure pandoc, but I think simply configuring Pandoc via Pandoc itself is simpler, as it is already possible with two YAML blocks -- one for Hugo, and one for Pandoc: --- title: This is the Hugo YAML block --- --- bibliography: assets/pandoc-yaml-block-bibliography.bib ... It would be very handy to generate bibliographies with Hugo, see #4060.
This PR adds two possible implementations (see each commit):
bibliography-key and pass its value to Pandoc, passes CI ✅nocite: '@*') but is obviously more intrusive; another option would be to create a dedicated frontmatter entry (e.g.external-frontmatter) and to pass just this. Does not pass CI at the moment 🔴What do you think?
