So the environment has changed somewhat in the past few years; in particular extension manifest version 2 (MV2) is no longer compatible with Chrome OS, and MV3 is required. Eyeballing this extension, it looks as though the change might be trivial (nothing more than a slight change to manifest.js) but that would need to be tested.

Can you experiment with the change to MV3 and confirm that the extension works as expected?
