Code Review
This pull request introduces compatibility with the Firestore emulator by allowing a custom API endpoint to be specified. The refactoring to centralize URL creation is well done. However, there are a few critical issues with build artifacts and log files being added to the repository, which expose user-specific paths and should be removed. There is also a minor cleanup item regarding a commented-out code snippet.
