LegacyLauncher v3.0.1
LegacyLauncher v3.0.1
Linux Desktop Integration (#94)
- Automatic Shortcuts: When running the AppImage on Linux, the launcher now automatically creates a
.desktopshortcut in~/.local/share/applications. - Start Menu Access: You can now launch LegacyLauncher directly from your system's application menu/dashboard without needing to locate the AppImage file manually.
Audio & Atmosphere (#88)
- Persistent Volume Slider: A new volume slider has been added to the Options menu, allowing you to fine-tune the launcher's background music.
- Save Your Settings: Your volume preference is saved locally and will be remembered every time you start the launcher.
Power User Compatibility (#95)
- Custom Proton Support: Linux users can now select a "Custom" compatibility layer.
- GE-Proton & More: Easily point the launcher to specific Proton-GE or custom Wine builds by providing the executable path, ensuring the best possible performance and compatibility for your specific hardware.
Multi-Instance & UI Refinements
- Clean Options Menu: Integrated the new volume and proton settings into the existing Options modal for a streamlined configuration experience.
- Improved Launch Logic: Enhanced the command-line argument handling to better support custom compatibility layers on Linux and macOS.

- If you have multiple versions of Proton installed via Steam, the launcher will still attempt to auto-detect them alongside the new custom option.
