Why isn't Facebook & Instagram blocked

I get a lot of requests to block comments on Facebook (and a few for Instagram). Originally I did try to block them, but after a short while it always stops working.

In order to do its thing, this addon requires a consistent target - an element on the page with a specific ID, class, or some other attribute. A lot of sites just assign a nice ID of "comments", or at least something predictable and stable. But whatever Facebook uses to generate their pages, it assigns random class names to elements, making it nearly impossible to block comments with any consistency. I've tried quite a bit, and nothing ever sticks.

You might want to look for an addon that specifically addresses Facebook, like Fluff Busting Purity (not sure if it blocks comments), or a style to use with the Stylus addon.
