I’m trying to figure out the best way to unblock it, and this proposal is quite important for the work we’re planning on our side. Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated!

Would it make sense for me to start working on an implementation draft/prototype in parallel while the proposal is being reviewed?

This proposal would unblock some important work we’re planning internally, and I’d be happy to help push it forward however makes the most sense. If there are other maintainers I should loop in as well, I’d really appreciate the guidance.
