I don't really like having a button that just tells them to enter a command in their terminal. I think adding a button that downloads the database would be cool though.

We could try to use https://github.com/hitchcott/meteor-backup-restore as @jhuenges recommends. I'm a little wary of how experimental it is, but it might be doable. Anybody want to give that a try instead?

I like the PR as is.

Like Greg said It's not the best UI, but it works. A small improvement is to have the text automatically copied to clipboard.

Maybe in the future we can have the meteor server perform that curl request/shell commands so we can download a file.

I have some ideas for how to make it slightly nicer (bootstrap modal, etc)

AlexeyMK I like the idea of a modal , is this still happening I have the latest install of Houston and I don't see this feature.

This is a feature I'd really like, I still haven't found an easy way to do random backups.
