Requesting membership
ZDM strives to foster academic exchange and is open to membership applications from all researchers at HHU or UKD working on aspects of digital medicine. While individual applications are possible, we encourage professors/group leaders to apply on behalf of their respective research group. In this case, every member of the research group becomes a member of ZDM, including new members that join a research group at a later time. Depending on the research focus, there are two kinds of memberships at ZDM:

Methods-focused members have a primary research focus on a) developing new methods in the areas of bioinformatics, medical informatics, data sciences and artificial intelligence with medical applications or b) digital medicine. All methods-focused members shall add the ZDM as an additional affiliation to all relevant publications.

Application-focused members use digital medicine techniques in their research or clinical practice. Application-focused members are welcome to, but not required to, add the ZDM as an additional affiliation to all publications.
All members are welcome to use the facilities of the ZDM through a system to book rooms and desks (see below).
To apply for membership, please send an email to zdm-info (see below) with a short description of your activities in the area of digital medicine and your motivation to join the ZDM (up to 300 words), accompanied by your CV (in any format) and a list of up to five most important publications in the area of digital medicine. Please indicate whether you apply as a methods-focused member or as an application-focused member. Membership needs to be renewed after three years.

For now, room booking is done via a shared calendar. To be added to the calendar send an email to zdm-info. Make sure to choose a meaningful title for your booking (e.g. your name) and to add the room to be booked. Bookable rooms:
- Ground floor, yellow meeting room
- Ground floor, blue meeting room
- Ground floor, seminar room
- 1st floor, seminar room
There are ~30 flexible desks that can be used any time. For now there is no booking systems and desks can be used on a first-come basis.
Any ZDM member can request access to the building by sending an email to zdm-info. You can then access the building using your UKD card.
