Accessibility Discussion

1. Navigate to the same website you explored in the Design Principles disussion.

2. In another tab, open the Accessibility Checker tool.

3. Enter the website's URL in the input box and click the green "Check website" button.

4. Discuss the results from the Accessibility Checker with your partner. Discuss the following questions:

   • Is this website compliant, or not?
   • What are the most urgent issues detected by the Accessibility Checker?
   • Who is affected by these issues?
   • What kind of lift do you think it would take to fix them?

5. Compare your accessibility discussion with your design principles discussion: What is your overall impression of this website?

6. Note your main take-aways, and any questions you might have for the whole-group discussion.

The recommended Accessibility Checker limits how many websites you can scan in a day. If you reach your daily limit, you can use one of the other accessibility tools below to gather similar information about your website.
