This is the release v1.1 of the self-learning materials for the Research Data Management (RDM) workshop for Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data. The course is provided by the danish National Health Data Science (HDS) Sandbox project, hosted by the Center for Health Data Science at the University of Copenhagen.

This course is a short tutorial on how to apply good RDM practices to NGS data and NGS data analysis. It covers lin broad terms the main concepts of Research Data Management, Open Science and FAIR principles, and aims to apply them to NGS data, giving concrete examples.

The solutions provided in this workshop are simple and straightforward, with a very limited need of tools and resources. From folder structure and organization to depositing your data and data analyses in the appropriate repositories, the tips and tricks shown here will aid bioinformaticans to keep order to their data. We hope you find the tips here useful.

In order to display the materials here, we recommend that you use Mkdocs and the Mkdocs Material theme to render a html version of these materials. Otherwise, the markdown files in the develop folder should be enough to follow the course.

NOTES: We have added a quick tutorial on Cookiecutter, as per requested in our workshops.
