LAMOST MRS Spectroscopic Binaries

Bo Zhang edited this page Aug 17, 2020 · 2 revisions

The LAMOST Medium-Resolution Spectroscopic (MRS) survey works at R~7500 in optical (5000-5300A and 6300-6700A). To deliver a sample of spectroscopic binaries, a series of analysis should be done.

  • Step1: measure radial velocities of B & R spectra respectively

  • Step2: pick out SB2 systems

  • Step3: correct the zero-point shift between epochs (using a sample of single stars)

  • Step4: determine the mass ratio and orbital parameters

  • Step5: determine the fundamental parameters of EB-SB systems
