If `updateInterval` is zero, schedule the index updater every 50ms for near-continuous indexing. Otherwise, retain periodic indexing with the original interval.

This PR addresses the issue in #445 which identifies a problem with (some) MAM queries that include text-based filters.
In the first two commits of this PR, automated tests are added that check for these problems. As they currently fail (this PR doesn't yet include fixes), the PR is opened as a draft.
