docs: Windows port report + platform-core roadmap stage - #41
Merged
Conversation
- docs/WINDOWS_PORT.md: file-by-file feasibility study (per-file dependency table, ~40% reusable / ~50% platform-rewrite split, options a/b/c with effort, risks, and the bottom line: don't do a full pure-Swift port; extract a platform- agnostic core instead). - docs/ROADMAP.md: new "Phase 2.5 — Platform-agnostic core" stage (protocols for TranscriptionEngine/AudioCapture/TextInserter/HotkeyMonitor/MenuBarUI/ Permissions/SecretStore + move the pipeline into OpenWhispCore), framed as enabling a community Windows port without the core team owning a full port. Phase 2 noted as step 1 of that core. Out-of-scope note nuanced accordingly. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com>
