What is New in this Release?

New Sensor Driver:

• AR0233 GMSL on IPU75XA
• AR0234 GMSL on IPU6EPMTL
• AR0820 GMSL on IPU75XA
• AR0830 MIPI on IPU6EPMTL, IPU75XA
• ISX031 GMSL on IPU6EP, IPU75XA
• ISX031 MIPI on IPU6EP, IPU75XA

New Kernel Version Support:

• 6.17 Canonical
• 6.17 Intel BKC (Kernel Overlay)

New submodule:

• ipu6-drivers pinned to 71e2e426f3e16f8bc42bf2f88a21fa95eeca5923
• ipu7-drivers pinned to 57304c286317ece4c0a74a52c4733486c57444ce

Driver Improvement:

• Expanded ipu-acpi driver to support different sensors with different HW design
  • Added Field to specify MFP GPIO used in serializer
  • Added Field to specify serializer address
• Removed manual patching to support different sensors
  • LI ISX031 and SENSING ISX031 can be supported using same build with different ACPI ID in BIOS
• Simplified sensor driver build and deployment by adding ipu-drivers submodule
  • no need separate build ipu6-drivers / ipu7-drivers
• Added MAX96724 DPHY support on IPU6EPMTL(ARL) and IPU75XA(PTL)
  • ARL can support 8x ISX031 with MAX96724 DPHY
  • PTL can support 4x ISX031 with MAX96724 DPHY

Configuration Updates:

• Update XML and JSON configuration files to support independent stream start for multi-camera GMSL use case.
• Add additional camera XML and JSON configuration files
  • 1x for single GMSL sensor use case
  • 8x for 8x GMSL sensor use case

Documentation Improvements:

• Consolidate userspace and kernelspace Documents into single directory
• README to host only critical steps for scaling repo
