Due to #214 I realize that using a low number of spectra will probably result in very uninformative error messages.
Here I add a check that raises an error if there are not enough spectra to select any validation spectra.

But it can still fail with very weird tensorflow errors if you use too little spectra. (even if enough to pass the first check)
