. - Add
$(pwd-shorten)
to your$PS1
prompt.

becomes
/ver+/ano+/tacos.txt
Home directories will be changed out as well:

becomes
~/exa+/directory
You can override these defaults by creating a config file in ~/.config/pwd-shorten
