Error when updating 'cmake' submodule - "Transmission type 'file' not allowed"

For unknown reason, I got "Transmission type 'file' not allowed" when updating the "cmake" submodule on Ubuntu 24.
I found as a solution to run "git config --global protocol.file.allow always" but not sure why I got that now.
Could be due to Ubuntu 24, thought I would document it here.
