It would be handy to have the option for the shell command drop into a non-root user. This PR updates that command to defer to a configured user if it is present, falling back on 'root' if it is not.
Ideally we would want option to shell in as root as well; but that might add extra complexity - I am not sure if it is worth it or not.
There is an extra white space change in this commit - I can remove that if you would prefer.
