As a follow-up to #58176, this PR applies the improved docblocks introduced to the interface and subsequently inherits from there on implenting classes. Given this (for static code analysis purposes) broadens a function parameter type, this should be considered a backwards incompatible change for an interface, hence master is targeted.

This should only be merged once #58176 has been merged and a subsequent merge to master has occured, after which this work can be rebased.
