Correction of famous polish Nobel Prize Winner Maria Skłodowska-Curie to a proper, formal name

I don't know why, but it seems like in America we are only taught Maria's name as Marie Curie, and not her full Polish name (at least in my social circle). I only learned her full name recently while in Poland. Would many Americans recognize her if we corrected her name to Maria Skłodowska-Curie? |
