This was what I originally envisioned when I set out to create a common regression test suite back in #4114. Given the initial validation typically may be done using the logging, there isn't a quick way to validate what got logged to the console, and I envisioned a logger pane that is always visible. Naturally, that should also be hooked with the relevant steps for use within the end-to-end tests themselves, which may help with making tests that check against execution path/execution order a bit more simpler to write.
