SIaD-Tool

Welcome to the Stability and Interactions assessment in the frequency-Domain Tool (SIaD-Tool) for modern power system applications. This free-access, multi-platform tool is implemented in MATLAB/Simulink and Python/PSCAD environments.

The SIaD Tool has been developed as part of the MSCA-ADOreD project, funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement No. 101073554.


✅ Validation and Citation Guidelines

The SIaD-Tool has been validated and documented in the following scientific publication. Users must cite this work in any academic, scientific, or industrial document where the tool is used, following the terms of the Creative Commons CC‑BY‑NC‑ND 4.0 license under which the SIaD-Tool is distributed.

📋 Requirements and Installation

The full list of requirements and installation steps can be found in the manual of each version of the tool:

  • For the MATLAB/Simulink version: Manual_V2_SIaD_Tool_MATLAB.pdf
  • For the Python/PSCAD version: Manual_V2_SIaD_Tool_PSCAD.pdf

📘 Examples

A complete example for each version of the tool has been added inside the Examples folder:

  1. Two-level voltage source converter connected to the grid (for MATLAB version)
  2. High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) benchmark system (for PSCAD version)

These examples illustrate the complete workflow and recommended usage of the SIaD-Tool in both MATLAB and PSCAD environments.


🚨 Important Advice

Recommended to use first the MATLAB version in order to understand the operating steps of the tool.
