I enabled the compilation with a sensible amount of warning and also added sanitizers to the build matrix for good measure - I had to remove MSAN since it seems like Boost has an uninitialized variable somewhere. |

Also adds a fix for checking the C++ version for the benchmarks
This does not compile the benchmarks as part of the tests.
