👋 I used this and it helped and wanted to share what I did and say thank you. 🙏 Also, leave notes for anyone else who may try this, --for example me in the future -- as it would be very cool if this worked.
Some notes for anyone else trying this:
I updated Laravel to 5.8. I also added start commands for yarn.
I switched to mysqlite, which in hindsight was a mistake. I should have created a database with mysql and connected to that.
I added authentication. I ran into mixed content warnings at this point. I set APP_URL, etc. using the url of my gitpod instance. Also, the login form is using http, not https, so Chrome still raises a mixed content warning. I don't grok.
