@mherbold mherbold released this 15 Jul 00:32

This release

⚠️ Alpha build for testers. This pre-release is not offered through the app's update checker — you must download and install it manually. Coming from a regular release, your existing force feedback settings will not carry over to the new FFB graph system (all of your other settings are preserved). FFB recordings made with the previous alpha use an older format and will no longer load — six fresh recordings are included, and you can record your own.

  • New Prediction FFB module!
    • Predicts the force feedback signal up to 12 ticks (33 ms) into the future to counteract latency between the simulator and your wheel.
    • Continuously learns from the torque signal plus your steering and the car's chassis motion, adapting itself to every car within a few corners.
    • Horizon, correction limit, and strength knobs let you tune how far ahead it looks and how aggressively it corrects.
  • New Interpolator FFB module!
    • Removes the staircase steps from 60 Hz signals by smoothly ramping across each frame, at the cost of one frame of latency.
  • Updated Marvin's awesome graph to take advantage of the new Prediction and Interpolator modules.
  • Importing a graph you already have now opens a dialog with choices — apply the file's module settings to the current car/track context, to the baseline, or to both, or import it as a separate copy.
  • The FFB graph node editor now supports zoom and pan.
    • Hold Ctrl and scroll the mouse wheel to zoom in and out around the cursor.
    • Click and drag empty space to pan around the graph.
    • The view automatically crawls along when you drag a node past the edge.
  • The LFE and wheel velocity sources gained strength knobs.
  • FFB recordings now capture additional chassis telemetry (yaw, pitch, and roll rates, lateral acceleration, front shock motion, and throttle and brake inputs).
  • Recording file names no longer include the track position.
  • Updated translations.

Version 2.0.466.1058

⚠️ Alpha build for testers. This pre-release is not offered through the app's update checker — you must download and install it manually. Your existing force feedback settings will not carry over to the new FFB graph system (all of your other settings are preserved). Your old FFB recordings are also incompatible with this version — a fresh recording is included, and you can record your own.

  • Brand-new modular FFB graph system that replaces the fixed force feedback algorithms!
    • Design your own force feedback processing chain in a visual node editor — add modules, drag them around, and wire them together freely.
    • Includes a library of sources (60 Hz and 360 Hz torque, LFE, soft lock, wheel centering, wheel velocity), DSP modules (filters, compressors, slew limiters, adaptive smoother, transient enhancer), mixers, and effects (crash and curb protection, speed gain, steering effect forces, torque dither).
    • Vibration effects (understeer, oversteer, and seat-of-pants vibration, shift RPM, gear change, ABS) now live in their own vibration graphs.
    • Graphs can be exported to .mairagraph files and imported, so you can share them with other users.
    • "Marvin's awesome graph" ships as the first built-in graph. Built-in graphs cannot be renamed, deleted, or structurally changed (their settings are still adjustable) — clone one into a custom graph to make it your own.
    • Module knobs can be bound to controller buttons (right-click a knob's + and − buttons), and every module setting follows your per-car/track context switches.
    • The first-run wizard's FFB style step now tunes the built-in graph's detail gain from 25% (silky smooth) to 200% (a lot of boost).
  • The FFB engine now runs the entire processing chain at a full 360 Hz with a dedicated high-rate output thread, for smoother and more consistent force delivery.
  • Major update to FFB recordings.
    • Press record to start and press again to stop — recordings capture up to 5 minutes and stop automatically when you complete a lap or leave the track.
    • Hovering over the preview graph now shows the complete recorded data under the cursor and a live track map with the car's position.
    • New recording started and stopped beeps, configurable on the Sounds page.
  • Big performance pass on the FFB engine — steady-state memory allocations were eliminated for hitch-free force feedback.
  • Curb protection now reduces force just like crash protection, and both protections gained a recovery time setting for a smooth ramp back to full force.

Version 2.0.459.1119

  • New shift RPM vibrate effect that pulses the racing wheel when it's time to shift up!
  • The commentary page now shows ElevenLabs voice synthesis errors (for example, selecting a paid voice on a free subscription) instead of failing silently.
  • The G Tensioner seat-of-pants auto-tune now settles faster by draining its peak 10× more quickly.
  • The balance triangle point labels are now shown in MAIRA orange.
  • Fixed a threading issue when repositioning overlay windows.
  • Fixed spurious one-lap-to-green and blue flag signals from the simulator at the end of a session.
  • Fixed localization display errors on the commentary and app manager pages.

Version 2.0.458.1162

  • Major update to the G Tensioner.
    • Renamed the Seat Belt Tensioner to the G Tensioner.
    • New Auto-Tune mode learns the G forces your car actually produces and automatically sets the surge, sway, and heave max G force and the seat-of-pants scale for you.
    • New Balance triangle lets you weight the belt range toward surge, sway, or heave by dragging a dot (hold to reset to center).
  • Overlays can now remember their position and scale per car.
  • Improved AdminBoxx firmware updates with a progress percentage and better protection against boot-up freezes.
  • Renamed the Wind feature to Typhoon Wind.
  • Per-run log files are now saved to a Logs subfolder and kept for 7 days.
  • Normalized UI labels to consistent sentence case.
  • Added missing help topics to the overlays page.
  • Fixed stale steering device fault messages when iRacing force feedback was already enabled on connect.
  • Fixed the G Tensioner minimum/maximum G readout sometimes staying stuck on "---".
  • Updated translations.

Version 2.0.452.990

  • The Commentary on/off toggle can now be mapped to a button.
  • The Pedals page now shows the live status of each pedal effect (idle, active, or suppressed).
  • Added an "Open documents folder" shortcut to the app settings.
  • Added an option to automatically delete old installer files.
  • The app and its installer are now code-signed, so Windows no longer shows SmartScreen warnings when you launch or update it.
  • Update checks now respect your Windows notification state — the update prompt no longer pops up while you're in a full-screen session, away, or during quiet hours — and the app remembers when it last checked.
  • Fixed a threading issue on the Commentary page that could cause instability.
