Hey there, I’m Michel! 👋

Welcome to my GitHub profile! I’m a Junior at Portland State University, currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science. I’m passionate about creating impactful software, learning cutting-edge technologies, and collaborating on innovative projects. From developing user-friendly applications to exploring data-driven concepts like machine learning, I embrace every challenge as an opportunity to innovate and thrive in the evolving world of technology.

🛠️ My Tech Toolbox

Programming Languages:

  • C++: For solving complex algorithms and systems-level programming.
  • Python: Automating processes and analyzing data with simplicity
  • JavaScript: Empowering web applications with dynamic interactions and seamless user experiences.
  • C: Mastering low-level programming to optimize performance and understand system fundamentals.
  • Assembly (x86/x86-64): Writing low-level, hardware-specific code for both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures.
  • HTML & CSS: Building clean, responsive, and elegant user interfaces.

Tools & Frameworks:

  • React Native: Developing cross-platform mobile apps with seamless user experiences.
  • Node.js: Building scalable backend applications and APIs.
  • Git/GitHub: Version control to keep projects clean and collaborative.
  • Vim: For lightning-fast text editing and productivity.
  • NASM Assembly: Assembling assembly language code into machine code for execution.
  • GDB: Debugging assembly and other low-level code to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • VSCode: My main IDE for coding and debugging efficiently.

🚧 Current Projects

PrepAndCount App

I’m working alongside two colleagues to develop PrepAndCount, a React Native app to track fitness, macros, and meal planning. Our goal is to create a user-friendly tool to help users stay on top of their health goals.

Exploring Machine Learning

I’m diving deeper into machine learning concepts, focusing on predictive algorithms and how they can be applied to solve real-world problems. It’s a journey I’m excited to grow in and apply across future projects.

🌱 My Focus Areas

  • Data Structures & Algorithms: Strengthening problem-solving and efficiency.
  • Modern C++: Expanding my knowledge of advanced programming techniques.
  • Cross-Platform Development: Enhancing skills in creating applications for multiple platforms.
  • Low-Level Programming: Deepening my understanding of how hardware and software interact.

🌟 What Inspires Me

I’m driven by the endless possibilities that technology brings to solving real-world challenges. My approach is simple: write code that makes life easier and build meaningful softwares.
