This has a number of changes, mostly batched into individual commits.

Fixes issue #38 by supporting string based item ids in player inventory, which means this would break support of older worlds.
Adds some extra missing blocks.
Added some extra APIs so that just the blocks can be saved, not the entire world (useful for flushing out changes during long running world generation on large worlds).
Some refactoring on the schema validation just for fun.
