MochaChat is a group of contributors that work on the Mocha network stack. Mocha is a modern version of classic instant messenging services from the 1990's under modern, native APIs and security standards.
The current Mocha stack include:
- Mocha Messenger The flagship Windows desktop client.
- Mocha Passport Identity, account, status, and update services.
- Notification Server Sign-in, presence, and conversation routing.
- Switchboard Chat and current media relay lanes.
- mochachat/Protocol Public MENP protocol and service reference.
- mochachat/Messenger Public project page for the Windows client, including roadmap notes, wiki content, feedback intake, and contribution guidance.

Mocha is still developed from a private production repository. The public GitHub presence is meant to provide:
- protocol documentation
- product and roadmap information
- screenshots and release notes
- compatibility notes
- bug reports, ideas, and public contribution intake
Accepted public suggestions may be manually ported into the private development repository by the Mocha team.
The current Windows client already includes:
- Passport-backed sign-in
- buddy list and presence
- one-to-one and group conversations
- file transfer
- current voice and video conversations
- service-status awareness
- in-client updates
Current public-facing areas of interest include:
- client polish and compatibility
- media and call refinement
- future add-ins planning
- deeper Passport-backed integrations over time
