Discussion about FEDERATION object: #2798
The question was answered but to prevent future questions on this topic it is a good idea to add some docs here.
Also, the FEDERATION object is interesting for developing plugins or browser extensions.

Since I am not sure if the location is a good match: Please leave a comment :-)
