This isn't a serious pull request; I added the ability to click on GPS coordinates sent in the format N# # # W # # # (degrees/minutes/seconds), for personal use.
A more interesting feature for general consumption would be allowing custom linking from messages: to add client-side customisation for instance, where the user could specify some regexps and format strings to add whatever hyperlinks they liked; twitter handles simply from @handle, hashtags from #hashtag, cashapp requests from £username, calendar from timestamps, and so on.
So, PR because if you wanted to add any kind of custom hyperlinks, this is a place to start.
