MewNotch v1.0.3-beta

Since v1.0.2 didn't solve issue for Tahoe users.

Some features are removed. Not recommended for Non-Tahoe Users.

Attention macOS 26 Beta Users (Or People who are Upgrading)

Install this update.

What was happening?
WindowServer was crashing on app start.

Users may get stuck in login/logout loop if "Launch at Login" is enabled for the app.
Only option will be to boot into safe mode and disable Login item for MewNotch.
(or be FaF and disable it before it starts)

Why was it happening?
Something is changed with WindowServer in Tahoe which crashes when MewNotch creates the notch window and moves it to separate space.

PS:
Same can happen for other (notch) apps too. maybe..

Previous binary received a few false positives on VirusTotal. (Behavior is random with different builds with same code)

Still not sure why but few fixes (that I think were issues) are added.

Also, builds are removed from previous releases.

After months of testing and iteration, MewNotch is now out of beta with a stable release.

This version brings the same smooth experience you’re used to, with suppression of all system OSDs and a clean, minimal interface that integrates seamlessly into your workflow.

• System HUD Suppression
  • Kill the system HUD when it's restarted.
    • Use Fix System HUD if HUD is not killed properly

UI & Animation Improvements

• Updated Logo and Icons
• Font scaling removed from Minimal HUDs for consistent behavior.
• Menu bar icon updated to fit with the new app icon.

Fixes & Refinements

• Option to disable the auto brightness changes on HUD. (Fixes #5 and #11)

We’ve been working hard to make MewNotch more seamless, more customizable, and more integrated into your workflow.

  • Option to show the notch on the macOS lock screen.
  • Displays a padlock icon when the Mac is locked.

  • Regularly checks and kills the system HUD. (Still needs a better fix)

What's New

Display Selection Options

Take full control over where the notch appears. You can now choose between:

• Show on all displays – Great for setups where symmetry or visibility is important.
• Show only on notched displays – Automatically hides the notch on displays that don’t have a notch.
• Choose a specific display – Manually select the display to show the notch on, ideal for multi-monitor workflows.

Mirror Mode in Expanded Notch

The expanded notch now includes a mirror preview. Useful for a quick check before joining a video call or presentation.

Launch at Login

Enable this in Settings to automatically launch MewNotch when your system starts. No need to start it manually each time.

Expanded Notch Controls

Pin the notch or open settings directly from the expanded state.
