TypeScript 7's native compiler no longer implicitly includes ambient @types/* packages when the tsconfig `types` field is omitted, unlike 5.x. Without this, NodeJS namespace and node: builtin imports fail to resolve (TS2503/TS2591), which blocks the pending typescript@^7.0.2 Renovate bump (#993). mcp-core and better-email-mcp already declare this field.
