GL4U Office Hours for On‐Demand Courses: Summer 2025
GeneLab for Colleges and Universities (GL4U) is hosting live office hours for their on-demand courses during Summer, 2025. Office hours will consist of open Q&A and walkthroughs of the hands-on activities for each module covered in the GL4U: Introduction and GL4U: RNA Sequencing courses on Canvas.
Create a Canvas account (if you don't already have one):
- The GL4U courses are offered on Canvas.
- If you don't already have an account, go to https://canvas.instructure.com/login/canvas/register to create a free Canvas Teacher account.
Enroll in the GL4U courses on Canvas:
- Click here to enroll in the GL4U: Introduction course.
- Click here to enroll in the GL4U: RNA Sequencing course.
Create a GitHub account (if you don't already have one):
- During each course we will be using GitPod, which offers free monthly compute resources using your GitHub account.
- If you don't already have an account, go to https://github.com/join to create one.
Prerequisites:
- These courses are designed to be accessible to participants with little to no coding experience.
Although, some prior coding experience will be helpful.
- Completion of high-school biology is required.
Some college-level course work in molecular biology will help make the material easier to digest.
Office hours will be held on Mondays and Thursdays from 6/9/2025 - 8/11/2025.
Mondays from 730am - 9am PT
Thursdays from 3pm - 430pm PT
Note: The same topics will be covered both days each week.
