Today's assignment is about working with data. If you prefer, you are not required to do the programming for this assignment and can instead research and document a data source on your blog.
- Find a data source that interests you. Does it have what you need? What format is it in? Do you know how to access it? What are some ideas you have for visualizing it? What story do you want to tell?
- Try getting JSON into a p5.js sketch. You can use any of the examples as a model. Here is a list of possible data sources and some more below.

- Document your process on researching and working with data. Consider include links to other projects that serve as references, inspiration, or deal with similar ideas as your homework. Consider the following questions about data visualization.
- What makes something a "data visualization"?
- What qualities make up good "data visualization"?
- To what extent can data visualization be objective? Should it be objective? What is the role of the artist or designer in telling a story about or with the data?
- Write a response to our visit to Second Story and Rockwell Group if you haven't already. Some questions to consider (you don't need to answer these, just some ideas to get you started):
- What was different / similar about these two design firms?
- What surprised you about the design process?
- Does the role "creative technologist" mean anything to you? Is this different than "programmer"?
- What projects of theirs did you find compelling? Inspiring? What projects did you not like and why?
