Attempted to rebase this update onto current main.

Moving the workspace pin from crypto-common = 0.2.0-rc.1 to 0.2.2 breaks digest/block-buffer against mismatched hybrid-array versions (ArraySize trait bound failures).

This needs a coordinated bump of the crypto pre-release stack (crypto-common, digest, block-buffer, hybrid-array). Not including this in the bulk dependency PR for now.
