…oo (#111) The nine e2ee scripts and the doctor's install command pin `matrix-nio[e2e]<0.26` deliberately — 0.26 sends the SAS commitment as hex and breaks verification against Element ([matrix-nio#570](matrix-nio/matrix-nio#570), still open at 0.26.0), and the libolm/vodozemac backends write mutually unreadable stores. The fallback install hints in `_lib/deps.py` and the macOS workaround in `references/setup-guide.md` still said `matrix-nio[e2e]` unpinned, so anyone following them resolves 0.26/vodozemac and the next `uv run` script fails with "The E2EE store cannot be opened". Closes #109 on the repo side: after this, no documented install path resolves to 0.26. The issue's "main is unpinned" premise was a stale-checkout artifact — main and v3.1.0 agree on `<0.26` since #108. The remaining part of #109 is machine-local (migrating a store that was already rewritten by an 0.26 run) and follows the migration steps in `references/e2ee-guide.md`. https://claude.ai/code/session_01NX5aNWxB78qQmSRKCyqyKj
