About the PR

Added a Security Guard shuttle meant to replace the Ancient Watchdog, the CBC Hound!

Why / Balance

the watchdog broke many ship guidelines and was only left in as no replacement existed, i hope that the CBC Hound can be a sufficient replacment!

Technical details

all the necessary files to add a ship, with a guidebook entry!

How to test

spawn in FO as security guard
go to staff shipyard console
buy the CBC Hound
fly it around
arrest some ruffians
escort the SR

Hi Bartholemew, I can see that this shuttle is still undergoing changes and updates. Please give a shout when you're ready for me to take a look at it : )

i have a question, what does this task do?
[Build & Run Shipyard Tests / build (ubuntu-latest)

it keeps failing sometimes, and sometimes it works fine, i'd like to know what it's doing so i can know how to fix it reliably

Hound!

This shuttle is looking pretty good! I have a few thoughts.

  • Brig

Hivequeen and I spoke and we agree that the glass walls between the “SR escort” and security room/holding cell would feel better if they weren’t glass. It gives the cell a bit of a zoo look that we decided felt off.

Having the one main light for the holding room be IN the brig is probably asking for trouble. Ditto the alarm strobe.s

The firelock should be located outside of the door where it could better deploy.

You could add an additional air alarm this way for the brig itself if you wanted to make it vox-able. Seems like a waste but, you know.

  • Bridge

I think a single light in this room is sufficient.

  • Engineering

I think the grav gen and the generator could switch places. Grav gen is a bit of an afterthought, power system might be nice to tinker with / pull out.

  • SR escort vibe zone

The extinguisher could likely go elsewhere. Like engineering where that poster is. While the freezer could go where the extinguisher is. Likewise don’t forget a few mugs for the coffee machine!

The latejoin spawn should be in an unobstructed tile. Not on a couch corner, as we’ve had issues with such spaces being disruptive to wheelchair users and the like.

I think those were the items that jumped out at me!

Why absinthe?

I would use an updated format for piloting/sector topography and so on.

thank you for taking the time to review this ship!

i chose absinthe due to it's extreme potency and psychadelic properties! both are needed with a role lacking in action and plentiful in boredom! but that's just me

and yeah i kinda was going for a kaleidoscope cell design where the guard/VIP can both watch, with the windows taken out it makes the VIP area kinda lonely as you can't see the guard anymore while sitting at the lounge, would having a single window remain to the right of the airlock be fine?

Regarding the bridge buttons (and a few on some of your other shuttles) I wanted to show you

If you go into the transform component of a button/frame/darn near most things you can specific where you want it to be on the x/y and allow for arrangements such as:

I thought that might be helpful.

In reflection I believe that I'd be interested in seeing the absinthe swapped out for something else. I believe that you could get by with a sly boozy coffee in the corner. That specific booze and its qualities don't feel entirely appropriate to this guy.

I'd like Hivequeen to take a look but honestly I feel like this one is getting there!

yeah the button movement using the transform component was something i remembered while making the CBC Scow, i hadn't remembered it while making the hound, will be sure to update the buttons then!

Absolutely not a requirement, but it's something that I thought I would skyline.

i've updated their placement and made them have the same type as other ships, had the thruster off as a red caution frame rather than a yellow one, and shutters were yellow caution rather than a grey border
